The cycling traffic is affected by the provisions which extend through the various regulations. We follow national laws, regulations, standards, action plans and strategies, local ordinances, zoning plans and decisions. We get involved in the public debate and consultation in order to take advantage of every opportunity for a gradual improvement of the situation on the streets.

[td_text_with_title custom_title=”General Urban Plan of the City of Zagreb” custom_title_link=”https://sindikatbiciklista.hr/sto-radimo/zakoni-strategije-pravilnici/gup-zagreba/”]We participated in the public debate on changes GUP Zagreb in June 2014. We have proposed a number of solutions which would ensure higher quality cycling infrastructure in the city and less money wasted on road projects to stimulate further growth of car traffic in the city. We have proposed a garages outside the center, the introduction of standards on parking lots for bicycles with public institutions as well as a number of other minor amendments to this important document.[/td_text_with_title][td_text_with_title custom_title=”Road Traffic Safety Act” custom_title_link=”https://sindikatbiciklista.hr/?p=3203″]Together with the Croatian Cycling Federation we’ve put together a comprehensive study in which we analyzed the existing law and with detailed arguments proposed a series of amendments.[/td_text_with_title][td_text_with_title custom_title=”National Regulations on cycling infrastructure” custom_title_link=”https://sindikatbiciklista.hr/pravilnik-o-biciklistickoj-infrastrukturi-izgubljeno-u-prijevodu/”]We participated in the public debate on the new Regulations on the conditions for the design and construction of cycling infrastructure on the roads. We handed over a hundred comments and proposals for changes and eagerly await its publication.[/td_text_with_title][td_text_with_title custom_title=”The national development strategy of traffic 2014.-2030.” custom_title_link=”https://sindikatbiciklista.hr/sto-radimo/zakoni-strategije-pravilnici/nacionalna-strategija-prometnog-razvitka-do-2030/”]In consultation with cycling organizations from Osijek (BikeMyDay) and Varazdin we participated in the public consultation on a national traffic strategy. In the segment of concrete measures we have proposed a set of common proposals complement, of which one part is adopted.[/td_text_with_title][td_text_with_title custom_title=”The movement of bicycles in the pedestrian zone in Zagreb” custom_title_link=”https://sindikatbiciklista.hr/izmjene-naredbe-o-uredenju-pjesacke-zone-u-sredistu-zagreba/”]We’ve put together a proposal for changes of Zagreb regulations prohibiting the movement of bicycles in the pedestrian zone in the city center. In our proposal, bicycles would be allowed to move under the same conditions as delivery vans, but with special restrictions and required caution to pedestrians.[/td_text_with_title][td_text_with_title custom_title=”Condensed principles and standards for construction of cycling infrastructure” custom_title_link=”https://sindikatbiciklista.hr/sto-radimo/zakoni-strategije-pravilnici/nacela-i-standardi-izgradnje-biciklisticke-infrastrukture/”]We’ve put together the guidelines and principles for construction of cycling infrastructure in cities, intended primarily for traffic services of the City of Zagreb. Even in the absence of national regulations, adhering to these guidelines can make a lot of good, and avoid a lot of unnecessary and harmful moves in traffic projects.[/td_text_with_title]
